Groups and places
User account mandatory
These settings can be made in LAUTI’s admin area backstage which can only be accessed with a user account for the corresponding instance.
Groups and places work similar, but do have some difference in attributes. Lists of both can be accessed via the menu in LAUTI’s default theme. See the visitor’s guide for more details.
Creating groups and places
An group or place contains a number of information fields, most of them optional. Only the following information is mandatory for the creation of a group or place:
- name of the group or place
- address of the place (only for places)
Furthermore, the creator has the possibility to add more information
- link to website
- email address
- description of the group or place
- one image
- coordinates to display a pin on a map (only for place)
Visibility of a group or place
An group or place can be deactivated, published and canceled by selecting the checkboxes in the respective form.
deactivatedmeans that your group or place is not visible in LAUTI at all when this option is checked. It is not listed on any page and not accessible by URL.Important: This option is only visible and adjustable by moderators and admins.
publishedis your possibility to control weather an event is listed on the home, place and group pages or not. When you uncheck this option your event will be accessible by URL only.Important: Everyone who has this link can see this event. There is no access control.
canceledchanges the appearance of your event to canceled. It is still visible for everyone and accessible by URL.
Editing groups or places
You can edit groups in the groups overview located at /backstage/groups and places in the place overview at /backstage/places of your instance by clicking the icon which looks like a pad with an pen. This will opne up the same form which is used to create an event, but with the data already filled out. You can now make modifications and afterwards click the Save button.

Editing groups or places with multiple users
When creating/editing events you can add users at the bottom of the page. After saving these users get access to this group or place in the backstage as well. Important: There is no fine grained permission model, so users with permissions can edit and delete the event.

Deleting groups or places
You can delete groups in the groups overview located at /backstage/groups and places in the place overview at /backstage/places of your instance by clicking the icon which looks like a trash can. You will be asked to confirm the deletion.

Get the URL of a group or place
This option is also accessible via the respective overviews. If you click the eye icon you will visit the URL of the event and can copy the address from your browser window.
